Bonswa from the Haiti team! We have reached our final destination at the Haitian Queen!
We started our day in the middle of the night and arrived at MSP airport at or before
The final part of our traveling was really where the rubber met the road. As we left the airport we were bombarded by the Haitian heat and humidity and people upon people offering us their assistance. The van was loaded up with bags stacked high in the back and in our laps and we set off towards our home for the week. After covering not quite 20 miles in just over 2 hours we arrived, unloaded, shared a delicious meal, debriefed the day, cleaned up, sorted our supplies, and are just starting to head towards our mosquito-netted beds to prepare for our early morning tomorrow.
As we drove through the city towards home and tried to acclimate to our new environment, some of the biggest things that struck our team were: how much we instantly trusted our driver to drive in the insane traffic; how insane the traffic was; how beautiful this country and its people are; how much garbage is laying in the streets yet how unaffected people are by it because it is their norm. We are all ready and excited to set out on our adventure tomorrow and see what God is going to teach us this week.
Please pray for continued team unity and bonding; safety; that we would shine the light of Jesus through everything we do; and that we would each be aware and receptive to what God is teaching us as we step out of our comfort zone and into what He is calling us to in this place, at this time.
“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”
Colossians 2:6, 7
