Constance Free Church has been a gospel-driven church and place of hope in our community for over 130 years. God has blessed our church as each generation has made room for the next through prayer, service, and joyful generosity. Our building is a vital tool for ministry, serving as both a center for transformation and equipping, and a launch pad for mobilizing people to reach our community. Together as a church, we’re on a journey to expand our capacity for more effective ministry, and we’re inviting Every[one] to come together around this shared vision.
So, why is the one in brackets? Because each person matters. Individually, you can make a difference at Constance as we reach families, BLESS our neighbors, and make room for more people to know Christ, grow in His ways, and go on His mission. Because each and every one matters to God.
Every[one] has a place in what God is building at Constance.

In bold faith, we’re planning an approximate 15,000 square foot addition, 17,000 square foot renovation, and a refresh in the common areas outside of the Auditorium.
The current estimated construction cost is $7.9 million.
We already have $1.5 million in savings designated for capital improvements
We are inviting our church to pledge at least $4 million over the next 3 years
We are prepared as a church to consider a reasonable, manageable loan to complete the remaining amount.
Every dollar pledged above $4 million
directly reduces what we need to borrow!

The Plans
Lobby
We will expand the lobby and open up sight-lines to the Auditorium and Kids Check-In with added conversation seating. Hallways surrounding the Auditorium will also receive refreshed flooring, paint, and brighter lighting to bring a clean, cohesive, and inviting look throughout.
Café+
Kitchen
Our current kitchen will be transformed into a casual seating area adjacent to a new coffee bar and prep kitchen. A dedicated commercial kitchen will be added off the Community Room to dramatically improve the current hospitality ministry and open up entirely new opportunities.
Kids
Our new Kids Check-In area will be visible from the entrance with nursery-5th grade rooms located beyond Check-In and past a new set of secure doors that provide added safety. Two sensory rooms will also better accomodate our Disability Ministry’s needs.
Office+
Equipping
Offices will be relocated to the existing preschool and nursery areas to equip our team with dedicated spaces to serve with greater effectiveness and collaboration. A new mid-size adult classroom space will be added in between the Community Room and Auditorium.
What Can I Do?
[1] Pray
Ask God to show you what to pledge over the next three years. This step is about advancing your dependency on the Holy Spirit.
[2] Talk
If you are married, discuss what God is leading you to give with your spouse. If you have kids, discuss generosity with them and invite them to pray and worship through your family’s giving.
[3] Pledge
Make a financial commitment over three years and turn in a pledge card physically or digitally by October 12. This commitment serves as a budgeting tool for the church, providing an approximation of dedicated funds.
Giving to the Every[one] Initiative will enable Constance to expand space for community in our lobby, increase accessibility and security in our Kids area, enhance our capacity for hospitality ministry, and equip our team with dedicated office space.
Questions You Might Be Asking
-
Even if we put aside 10% (a significant portion!) of our regular budget, it would take us over 15 years to save enough money to accomplish our plan if costs remained the same. But they won’t! With inflation and rising building costs, each day that passes increases the price tag of any project we’d undertake and a pledge campaign would be inevitable. Through years of prayer and planning, we believe the time is now to solve longstanding problems and increase the effectiveness of our campus to fulfill the purpose of our church.
-
While our primary goal is to fully fund this project through generous and worshipful giving, our Elder Board is open to considering reasonable debt if needed to complete the project. This isn’t about growing bigger, but about functioning better – creating secure, accessible, and hospitable spaces for children’s ministry, providing room for our thriving disciple making groups, and reaching our community’s unchurched families with welcoming spaces and programs where they can connect with Jesus.
We’ve successfully used strategic borrowing in the past to advance our mission, and we’ve seen God provide in remarkable ways. We believe that moving forward in faith sometimes means being willing to make prudent financial decisions that enable us to better serve families and the next generation today while maintaining responsibility for tomorrow.
We’re committed to careful stewardship, minimizing debt wherever possible, and ensuring that any potential borrowing would be manageable within our church’s financial capacity. Any debt beyond budget year spending must also be approved by member vote according to our constitution. Ultimately, our goal is to create facilities that best serve our congregation and community while faithfully stewarding the resources God has entrusted to us.
-
We plan to break ground as early as spring of 2026. Renovation and expansion will occur in stages to minimize disruption to programming. Almost every area of our main level except the Community Room and Auditorium will be impacted by the project and we appreciate your patience and anticipation as we make some big changes and improvements!
-
If we do not receive sufficient commitments, we will prayerfully and considerately evaluate whether to adjust the project timeline, scope, or funding plan. We will prioritize the financial strength and stability of the church.
-
Although the Every[one] Initiative is instrumental to our future plans as a church, maintaining regular giving is critically important. We ask that you make a commitment to the building without decreasing your regular giving.
