Constance has been a gospel-driven church on this corner for more than 130 years. Every generation has made room for the next through prayer, service, and joyful generosity. Now it's our turn.
We are on a journey, not at a destination. Together we're expanding our building, strengthening ministry capacity, and making room for more people to meet Jesus and His church. Connecting people with Jesus in Andover, across the Twin Cities, and around the world is bigger than any single phase or pledge. It's a calling that requires every one of us to keep walking.
So, why is the one in brackets? Because each and every one matters to God.
Every[one] has a place in what God is building at Constance.
More than 300 families already stepped in.
$4 million pledged over three years.
Construction begins fall 2026.
The journey continues.
Every dollar pledged above $4 million directly reduces what we need to borrow!
May 2026 Update
The Every[one] Initiative is moving! Since the campaign launched, Constance has received over $1.3 million in gifts toward the Every[one] Initiative, above the $1.5 million we had saved already. This brings the current total designated to over $2.8 million. We are grateful for the faith and generosity God has produced in this church.
After navigating delays this past winter and spring, our leadership team made the decision to transition to Langer Construction and Pope Design Group as our general contractor and architect. We are grateful for the partnership of Kinghorn Construction and KOMA Architecture, both of whom continue to do excellent work with churches and schools in the area and have graciously supported this transition.
We are heading toward a fall 2026 groundbreaking and project completion by end of summer 2027, which means expanded space ready for fall 2027 ministry. Our team is carefully monitoring project costs and construction inflation to ensure Constance finishes this project on solid financial footing.
More details and final designs are on the way and will be updated on this page. Thank you for your patience and your continued investment in connecting people with Jesus.

Why We Build
Roughly 320,000 people live within 10 miles of Constance. More than 70,000 of them are children. The neighborhoods around us are growing. So is the spiritual need.
Trust in churches has dropped sharply in our community. In the last four years, the number of people within ten miles of Constance who say they don't believe in God has increased sharply. One of the most common reasons people in our area give for stepping away from faith is a simple one: it wasn't relevant to my life.
When researchers asked our neighbors what they most want from a church, the top answer was a warm and friendly encounter. A place to belong. Someone who knows their name.
That is what Constance has always been. That is what we are building to strengthen. More capacity and better spaces for the families God is bringing through our front door. A kitchen designed for the capacity of hosting meals. A safer, accessible kids' space to welcome more families. A larger lobby so people can come early, stay late, and connect meaningfully with one another in an unhurried environment.
Together, we can maximize our church’s impact through the gospel in the surrounding community and reimagine these spaces for more effective ministry. As we seek to reach our community and the next generation, now is the time to invest. We want our church home to visibly and tangibly reflect who we are: a vibrant, growing family that joyfully invites others to know, grow, and go in Jesus.

KOMA Architect plan from August 2025
The Plans
Lobby
The lobby expands, opening sightlines to the Auditorium and Kids' Check-In, with added conversation seating. Surrounding hallways get refreshed flooring, paint, and brighter lighting so the whole space feels clean, cohesive, and inviting. Our current lobby and hallway space create traffic jams and push people through rather than drawing them in and helping them stay.
Café+
Kitchen
Our current kitchen, which is currently insufficient to appropriately meet even the present event load, becomes a casual seating area next to a new coffee area and prep kitchen. A full commercial kitchen will be added off the Community Room. This will catalyze our hospitality ministry and open new doors for events, outreach, and care for families inside and outside Constance.
Kids
A new Kids' Check-In welcomes families just inside the front door. Classrooms run from nursery through fifth grade behind a secure set of doors, raising the safety standard for every child. Two sensory rooms will better serve our Disability Ministry families.
Office+
Equipping
Offices relocate to the existing preschool and nursery areas, giving our team dedicated spaces to serve with focus and collaboration. A new mid-size adult classroom will be added between the Community Room and Auditorium for groups, classes, and ministry training.
How is this Funded?
Constance is investing approximately $9-10 million in this project, covering construction, design, equipment, furnishings, and related costs. Three sources fund it.
Savings. $1.5 million is already designated from Constance's capital reserves.
Pledges. More than 300 families have pledged $4 million in giving over three years. If you have not made a pledge, we invite you to join us!
A responsible loan. A loan covers the remainder. The elder board and finance team have worked through a range of options to keep debt service well within Constance's long-term financial health.
When the Every[one] Initiative launched in fall 2025, the construction costs were estimated at approximately $7.9 million. This number remains accurate for construction itself! Inflation in materials and labor, along with design refinements, and ongoing work to understand the needs and opportunities of ministries put the current total project estimate at $9-10 million, a range that includes all “soft costs,” furniture, security systems, classroom technology, appliances, etc. Our project manager, building team, and Elder Board continue to monitor costs and the church remains positioned to finish this project on solid financial footing.
Members will vote on the final construction contract and financing at a congregational meeting in late summer.
After the building opens, the work of the campaign shifts toward reducing debt and building ministry and missional capacity, here, near, and around the world.
Every gift between now and the close of our three-year campaign moves us forward.

Questions You Might Be Asking
-
At a congregational meeting in late summer 2026. Members will vote on the final construction contract and financing. We'll communicate the date, location, and details well in advance, along with everything you need to be ready to vote.
-
The building goes up, and the journey keeps going. The mission has always been connecting people with Jesus. The building is the tool, not the goal. After construction, we move into a season focused on reducing debt and strengthening ministry capacity so the new space can do everything we built it for.
-
Langer Construction is working closely with Constance to plan and sequence construction in a way that minimizes impact on ministry programming to the greatest extent possible. We'll communicate any temporary changes to programs, entrances, parking, or kids' check-in in advance.
-
The communities around Constance are growing and the spiritual need is sharpening. Trust in churches has dropped in our area. People are anxious about the future, their finances, and the meaning of their lives. They're hungry for a place to belong. Constance has always been that place. We're building so we can keep being that place for the next generation.
-
Regular giving funds the day-to-day ministry of Constance: Disciple-making programs, community groups, staff, local and global missions, and care ministry. Every[one] Initiative giving is in addition to regular giving, not in place of it. Both are acts of worship.
Would you pray with us?
This building is not the mission. The mission is connecting people with Jesus in Andover, across the Twin Cities, and around the world. The building is a tool. Would you pray that God would use every square foot of it to that end?
Pray for our construction and design team, that God would give them wisdom, safety, and excellence.
Pray for the membership vote, that Constance would move forward in unity.
Pray for the families who will walk through these doors for the first time and meet Jesus.
Pray for the church, that we'd remain marked by grace, growth, and joyful generosity for the next generation.
The journey continues together.
